F & R Timber - building the business
Furniture frame manufacturer F & R Timber has not looked back since it turned to factoring to take it into a significant new development phase.
The Derbyshire based company, which was set up in 1988 by Allan Flint and his partner Simon Richmond, appointed Close Invoice Finance to provide an invoice discounting service after their Bank declined to increase the overdraft facility.
Allan comments: "The Bank was not prepared to take the risk of funding our growth and we turned to Close to provide the finance that would enable us to build our business. We have developed an excellent working relationship with them and find them very effective and efficient."
The company began trading from a 1,000 sq. ft. unit in Ropewalk, Ilkeston and has expanded the business to a point where it acquired the current premises in Heanor comprising 30,000 sq. ft. of internal space and 40,000 sq. ft. outside.
Allan concludes: "Long Eaton is the furniture centre of Britain and - with 70 employees - we are probably the biggest independent frame manufacturer in the region. We are committed to ensuring continued growth for our business and with Close behind us we are in a great position to achieve our objectives"
